About Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with PRP is a cutting-edge regenerative aesthetic treatment that significantly boosts the results of traditional Microneedling. The core principle involves using autologous (your own) blood components—specifically PRP—rich in essential growth factors. This nutrient-dense serum is applied topically during the Microneedling process, penetrating deep into the dermal channels. This service is best suited for individuals with more pronounced textural concerns, including deep acne scars, significant fine lines, sun damage, and general laxity, who desire accelerated and superior results. How it Works

The Technology

The procedure involves two distinct, critical steps:

  1. PRP Preparation: A small sample of the client’s blood is drawn. This blood is then processed in a specialized centrifuge device. The centrifuge spins the blood at high speed to separate the red blood cells from the clear plasma, yielding a super-concentrated serum of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), which holds 5-10 times the normal concentration of healing growth factors.

  2. Microneedling Infusion: The ultra-fine Microneedling device is then used to create precise micro-channels in the skin. Immediately following, the concentrated PRP serum is massaged or infused into these channels, allowing the potent growth factors to penetrate and supercharge the skin’s collagen production and cellular repair process.

Duration

The entire Microneedling with PRP appointment takes approximately 75 to 90 minutes. This includes the time needed for the blood draw, the 15-20 minutes required for the blood centrifugation process, and the application of numbing cream followed by the Microneedling infusion. For best regenerative results, a minimum of 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is typically recommended.

Results

Results are significantly enhanced compared to standard Microneedling. Initial skin radiance and glow are noticeable within days. However, the regenerative power peaks between 6 to 12 weeks post-treatment as the PRP-stimulated collagen matures. Clients typically observe superior firmness, deeper reduction of scars, and improved skin clarity. The collagen-building effects are durable and long-lasting, often sustained for over a year with a commitment to proper sun protection and skincare.

Safety: Safety is exceptionally high because the key therapeutic ingredient (PRP) is sourced entirely from your own blood, eliminating the risk of allergic reaction, rejection, or transmission of disease. The procedure is performed under the sterile guidance of our medically trained staff, including strict adherence to single-use cartridges and clean processing of the blood sample. Minimal downtime is expected, typically just redness and slight swelling for 24–72 hours.

Comfort: Patient comfort is ensured through the application of a strong topical numbing cream before the Microneedling begins. While there is minor discomfort during the initial blood draw, the Microneedling portion is very tolerable, often described as a gentle, light scratching or vibrating sensation.

Why is this treatment sometimes referred to as a Vampire facial?

This treatment is sometimes referred to as a ‘Vampire Facial’ because it involves using a patient’s own blood to create Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), which is then applied to the skin during microneedling to support tissue regeneration. While the nickname is commonly used in popular media, the clinical term for the procedure is microneedling with PRP.

Why is PRP better than using a standard serum during Microneedling?

PRP contains up to ten times the concentration of natural human growth factors compared to standard serums. These growth factors are the biological messengers that command your cells to produce collagen, elastin, and repair tissue, leading to dramatically enhanced and accelerated results. 

What will my skin look like immediately after the treatment?

Your skin will look quite red, similar to a moderate to severe sunburn, and may feel tight or warm. Slight swelling is also common, especially the next morning. This acute redness usually subsides significantly within 24 hours. 

Is there any risk of an allergic reaction?
Since the PRP used for your treatment is derived 100% from your own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic or immune rejection response, making it one of the safest biological treatments available.
